JOB SUMMARY:
Performs duties pertaining to fastener tools including the repair and modification of specific tooling using a variety of prints, machinery, and hand equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Repair jobs that come out of the header through the use of hydraulic presses, surface grinders, chop saws, lathes, and pencil grinders.
• Prepare the next job going into the header,
• Repair loads and build spare loads for the header line.
• Report tool changes to the Tool Service Technical Production Coordinator.
• Troubleshoot tooling with micrometers, calipers, hole gages, and tooling prints.
• Support Cold Heading setups as needed to gain knowledge of the process.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interdepartmental communication regarding prints, tooling, and changes.
• Housekeeping / 6s.
• To take tools to machines as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Physically able to bend, stoop, climb and reach.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Cold Heading (machine operations) experience is highly preferred.
• Basic MS Office knowledge, specifically Outlook and Excel.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
• Some noise – heavy machinery.
• Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents
• Grinding dust.
• Responsible for complying with regulations and standards covered under MISOSHA as well as not damaging, moving, interfering or removed any safety related item that is provided.
